Sorry dark for the past week
Suzi and I have been in the Chicago area since last Tuesday to help one of our partners in a financial venture who is experiencing some serious health problems.
Since the hospitalized partner was our primary wizard practitioner, we’ve been scrambling to catch up on the operational particulars and figure out how we can help.
One thing we’ve definitely seen is the predictable challenges of internal communication among very independent deal-makers who daily wade through inconceivable levels of stress, chaos, frustration and misrepresentation — all to find the one legitimate nugget that will allow us to get a return on our 3-year investment.
We’re awaiting our friend’s prognosis, after which we’ll have a better handle on how long we’ll be here and what we need to do to contribute going forward.
With that, I’ll get back to Donald Dell’s directive: “Read unusual things and cultivate unusual people.”
